Akron Resident Arrested for Attempted Bank Robbery

C. Frank Figliuzzi, Special Agent in Charge of the Cleveland Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), for the Northern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Rachel N. Talkington, age 20, from Akron, Ohio on August 10, 2009. Talkington has been charged with one count of attempted Federal Armed Bank Robbery for her involvement in the attempted robbery of the Chase Bank, 632 E. Market Street, Akron, Ohio on August 7, 2009.

Talkington has charges pending in the robbery of the First Merit Bank, 1060 Kenmore Blvd, Akron, Ohio on July 30, 2009; the robbery of the Chase Bank, 632 E. Market Street, Akron, Ohio on July 22, 2009; and the attempted armed bank robbery of the First Merit Bank, 2878 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on August 10, 2009.

This charge is the result of an investigation conducted by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department, Akron Police Department and the FBI.

The Cuyahoga Falls Police Department and the FBI continue to investigate the attempted robbery of the First Merit Bank on August 10, 2009. A second suspect involved in this attempted robbery remains at large. If anyone has information regarding Rachel Talkington or this attempted bank robbery they are asked to contact the Cuyahoga Falls Police at 330-928-2181 or the FBI at 216-522-1400.

Talkington will appear today in United States District Court, Cleveland, Ohio for her initial appearance on this charge.
