Arrest of Eastlake Man for the Robbery of the U.S. Bank
C. Frank Figliuzzi, Special Agent in Charge of the Cleveland Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation( FBI ), for the Northern District of Ohio, announced the arrest of Peter Rowe, Jr., age 31, of Eastlake, Ohio, and Richard M. Chounet, age 28, of Concord, OH, on July 29, 2009, for the July 24, 2009 bank robbery of the U.S. Bank, located at 26410 Lakeshore Boulevard, Euclid, Ohio. Rowe and Chounet were arrested by the Cuyahoga County/FBI Fugitive Gang Task Force and Euclid Police Officers. The Cuyahoga County/FBI Task Force is comprised of agents/officers of the FBI, Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department, Ohio State Parole, and the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority.
The Affidavit in support of the Complaint/Arrest alleges that on July 24, 2009, Peter Rowe entered the U.S. Bank and provided a teller with a demand note which advised the teller to provide Rowe with money and that he had a weapon. The teller complied and gave Rowe $1,253.00 in U.S. Currency from her teller drawer. Rowe then fled the bank on foot. The Affidavit further alleges that Rowe ran to a getaway vehicle, operated by Richard Chounet.
Peter Rowe, Jr. is charged with Bank Robbery, in violation of Title 18, U.S.C. Section 2113(a). If indicted and convicted, Rowe could face a maximum possible term of twenty years imprisonment and a $250,000.00 fine. Richard M. Chounet is charged with Accessory After the Fact, in violation of Title 18, U.S.C. Section 3. If indicted and convicted, Chounet could face a maximum possible term of ten years imprisonment and a $125,000.00 fine.
