Cleveland’s Health Care
Fraud/Civil Rights Squad investigates violations involving racial discrimination, color
of law (e.g. police brutality, deprivation of constitutional rights by a person holding an
official position), discrimination in housing, hate crimes, Institutionalized Persons Act
matters, and violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.
Cleveland’s Squad 9 maintains liaison with local, state and federal law
enforcement agencies, community and civic organizations responsible for the detection and
deterrence of all forms of discrimination, acts of hatred and violence, based on race,
religion, color or ethnic origin.
The Cleveland FBI, working closely with the United States Attorney’s Office and
the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, aggressively pursues credible
allegations of Civil Rights violations.
